The Wharf Fort Lauderdale Reopening This Friday

Ft Lauderdale Lifestyle News

The Wharf Fort Lauderdale will be reopening this Friday on October 11th with a brand new look and ready to serve up espresso martinis and three new sports for attendees to grab a bite to eat, according to Miami New Times.

The Wharf Fort Lauderdale, which started initially as a pop-up back in 2019 but would eventually morph as it took on a life of it’s own thanks to a growing popularity, announced that it was temporary closing for a complete revamp during the month of September.

Emi Guerra and Alex Manteco, cofounders of Breakwater Hospitality Group, made the decision to temporarily close the venue so that they could completely re-do the venue so that is was more aligned with the name and image it has built over the year.

“After almost a five-year run, the venue got beat up,” Guerra said, per the Miami New Times. “When you do events for hundreds of people, every time you open, it takes a toll. When guests come in, they’ll notice an upgraded and elevated look and feel. We have new food concepts, all new furniture, new floors, all the bars got a nice makeover, and a new overall color palette, decor, and design. So it’ll still feel very familiar, by all means, but a new and refreshed look.”

A Wharf favorite, the Piefather by five-time James Beard Award-nominated chef Jose Mendin, will be joined by three new food vendors. Those vendors include Carlos & Pepe’s serving Mexican eats, Janken, which serves up Pan-Asian and Korean Fusion cuisines, and Smashies which is known for their burgers.

The Wharf will also be offering a brand new look to their bars and associated food and drink menus.

“The O Ship Bar is one of the new features in the venue,” Guerra said. “We have these new espresso martini machines that serve these consistent, absolutely perfect martinis, so that’s pretty exciting. It’ll also feature our “Wharflada,” which is our piña colada, but served inside one giant pineapple where we cut off the top so guests can walk around the venue drinking it.”

It all kicks off on October 11th and those who RSVP will receive a complimentary signature mojito, and for the last day of celebrations, on Sunday, October 13, the wharf’s themed party “Saddle Up Sundays” will close things out in grand fashion.
